Tifawt
1 AvailableThe one you would picture if someone said Moroccan rug. Ivory, deep, and warm underfoot long before the heating gets going.
Undyed ivory wool, and a lattice of dark diamonds drawn across it by hand — no two lines quite the same, which is how you know a loom made it and not a machine. Three metres long, which is enough to run past the foot of a bed or carry a whole seating group rather than float in the middle of it. High pile, heavy in the hand, hand-knotted in the Middle Atlas.
One woman wove Tifawt, once. When she finds her home, she is never made again.
